About ASET
ASET — the Adult Skills and Empowerment Track — was created because digital exclusion does not stop at age 18. Adults and seniors face growing barriers as government services, healthcare, banking, and employment move online.
What ASET covers
ASET programming includes smartphone and tablet basics, internet navigation, online safety and scam prevention, AI tools and how to use them safely, financial literacy and online banking, and telehealth and accessing services online.
Who ASET serves
Adults and seniors of all ages in Bedford-Stuyvesant. No prior technology experience is required. ASET is designed specifically for people who are new to digital tools and may feel intimidated by technology.
Why it matters
Digital exclusion among adults and seniors is not just an inconvenience — it is a barrier to healthcare, employment, financial services, and civic participation. ASET closes that gap with patient, practical, community-centered instruction.
