Our Promise
We protect the privacy of the people who give.
Building Minds Building Communities, Inc. (B2MC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 92-2873759). We are grateful to everyone who gives, and we protect the privacy of our donors and sponsors. This Donor Privacy Policy adds detail to our Privacy Policy. If the two ever differ, we will fix them so they agree.
We do not sell, rent, or trade donor information.
What We Collect
The information we receive when you give.
- Your name, email address, and the amount and date of your gift, and any designation you choose, such as the program you want to support.
- Your phone number, if you give it to us.
- For sponsors: the organization's name, a contact person, the sponsorship level, any in-kind items offered, and how you would like to be recognized.
Payment details. Gifts are processed through Zeffy or Givelify, which handle your card or bank information. B2MC does not store financial data.
How We Use It
To thank you, and to run our programs.
- To process and acknowledge your gift, and to send a receipt. Zeffy emails a tax receipt automatically for gifts made through Zeffy.
- To contact you about your gift or sponsorship.
- To send news about our programs and events, only if you have chosen to receive it.
- To meet our legal obligations as a registered nonprofit.
We do not use donor information for advertising or behavioral tracking.
Recognition
We list you only if you say yes.
We never publish a sponsor's name or logo without permission. Sponsors choose how they would like to be listed: under a business name, by personal name, anonymously, or not at all. A member of our staff reviews a listing before it goes live. If you would rather give quietly, that is welcome.
As stated in our Privacy Policy, donor names are not disclosed on our public filings.
Who Can See It
Only the people who need to.
Our staff and volunteers see donor information only when they need it to do their work. We also use service providers, such as Zeffy and Givelify for gifts, Resend for email, and Cloudflare for hosting and data storage. They process information only to provide those services for us. A full list is in our Privacy Policy. We may also share information if the law requires it.
Your Choices
You can ask us to change or remove your information.
- Ask to see, correct, or remove the information we hold about you.
- Ask to stop receiving emails (every email has an unsubscribe link) or texts (reply STOP).
- Ask us to change how you are recognized, or to stop listing you on our website. Printed materials and copies shared by others may not be retrievable.

Tax information. A gift to B2MC may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please check with your tax advisor about your own situation, because B2MC cannot give tax advice.
