Youth Mentor

Provide mentorship to teenagers in ASEP Youth: college prep, career guidance, and life skills.

Professional

Workshop Facilitator

Lead a workshop in your area of expertise: finance, health, law, entrepreneurship, or your field.

Events

Event Support

Help us run community events, program sessions, and outreach activities throughout the year.

Creative

Arts & Media

Contribute photography, video, graphic design, or creative instruction to support our programs.

Who you will be helping

B2MC's programs are free and open to eligible participants in Bed-Stuy. They are organized under the BUILD Initiative, which brings together digital skills, futures, money smart, wellness, creative, and community work. Volunteers most often support three pathways:

Ages 5 to 11

ASEP Jr.

Academic and social enrichment for younger youth: foundational literacy, learning confidence, and community connection.

Ages 12 to 18

ASEP Youth

Middle and high school students: college readiness, career exploration, leadership development, and entrepreneurship.

Adults and seniors

ASET

Adult Social Education Technology: digital skills, job coaching, financial literacy, and pathways to economic opportunity.

How volunteering works

  1. Tell us about yourselfFill out the volunteer form below with your skills and availability.
  2. We follow upSomeone from our team will follow up within 2 business days to talk about what fits your time and interests.
  3. Get your assignmentFor events and program sessions, we email you your station and your shift, so you know exactly where to be.
  4. Sign in and helpOn your shift, open the volunteer sign-in page on your phone, enter your email, and type the 6-digit code we send you. Read and accept the volunteer agreement, choose your station, and you are on the team. You can sign in starting 30 minutes before your shift, and your hours are tracked for you.

Volunteering with children

Some stations and programs work directly with children. Volunteers in those roles need to be cleared first. We will walk you through what that involves when we talk, and there are plenty of other ways to help in the meantime.

Volunteer as a team

Bring your coworkers, congregation, or class. We host group volunteer days for businesses, faith communities, schools, and other organizations, and we match your team to a project that fits its size and skills. Tell us who you are and when you would like to come, and we will follow up.
